NOTE: You should enter this Pinpoint Test only when checking computed timing, or you have been directed here from Quick Test.


REMEMBER


To prevent the replacement of good components, be aware that the following non-EEC areas may be at fault.


- Base engine

- DIS module

- Camshaft sensor

- Crankshaft sensor

This Pinpoint Test is intended to diagnose only the following:


- Harness circuit: SPOUT

- Processor assembly


DESCRIPTION


The Spark Output (SPOUT) is a digital signal generated by the EEC-IV processor which supplies spark timing information to the DIS module. Normally, there will be one SPOUT pulse for each PIP pulse.
