Daytime Running Lamp Control Unit: Description and Operation

The Daytime Running Lamps Module supplies a low voltage to the High Beam Headlamps during the day.

This system is activated when all of the following conditions are met:

1) The Ignition Switch is in the RUN position
2) The Parking Brake is disengaged
3) The Headlamp Switch is in the OFF position

The Daytime Running Lamps are deactivated whenever the Headlamp Switch is placed in the HEAD position or Parking Brake is engaged.

This system is currently used only in Canada.
