Liftgate Wiper

With the Ignition Switch in the RUN position, current is applied to the Liftgate Washer motor and the Liftgate Wiper Motor from the REAR WIPER fuse. When the Liftgate Wiper/Washer Switch is pressed closed, current flows through the Liftgate Wiper Switch to operate the Liftgate Wiper Motor.

As the Liftgate Wiper Motor rotates, the Liftgate Wiper Motor Switch is moved from the PARK position to the grounded RUN position. Wiping action now continues to the completion of one sweep of the liftgate wiper. At the completion of one sweep, the Liftgate Wiper Motor Switch moves back to the PARK position and wiping action ceases, unless the Liftgate Wiper/Washer Switch continues to be held closed.

Closing the Liftgate Washer Switch locks the Liftgate Wiper Switch in the ON position, supplies a ground to the Liftgate Washer Motor and sprays washer fluid onto the rear window. Once the Liftgate Washer Switch is released, the Liftgate Washer Motor ceases, but the Liftgate Wiper Motor remains on until the Liftgate Wiper Switch is pressed again, turning the Liftgate Wiper Motor off.
