Technician Safety Information

1. Wear appropriate eye protection.
2. To prevent burns, use caution when working near catalytic converters. Converter temperatures can exceed 1000°F.
3. Ignition systems present a shock hazard; exercise care when performing spark test. Use non-conductive ignition wire pliers.
4. When servicing the fuel system use these cautions:
^ Put "CAUTION: FLAMMABLE" sign in the workshop.
^ Furnish shop with proper fire extinguisher.
^ Disconnect battery ground cable before service work.
^ Place a suitable container under connection to be opened.
^ Allow pressure to escape and catch spilled fuel in container.
^ Disconnect line or hose, then plug all fittings.
^ Put drained fuel in an explosion-proof container and close lid securely.

NOTE: If equipped, use system bleed valve to relieve pressure.
