EGR Valve: Service and Repair
WARNING: EGR components transport hot exhaust gases. Contact with hot EGR components may cause severe burns. Wear protective gloves or allow the vehicle sufficient time to cool.Throttle Body:
1. Remove the EGR vacuum hose and electrical connector.
2. Remove the EGR valve mounting bolts and EGR valve.
3. Clean mating surfaces being careful not to get foreign material in the intake manifold.
4. Install the EGR valve to the EGR spacer, with a new gasket. Torque the EGR valve mounting bolts to 12-18 ft lb (16-24 Nm).
5. Install the EGR valve vacuum hose and electrical connector.
6. START the engine and check for exhaust leaks.
