General Testing Description
The self-test consists of many diagnostic tests that are contained as part of the Electronic Engine Control (EEC-IV) system. These tests are designed to: test major subsystem elements, be used without special external test equipment, and minimize manual diagnostic time. The self-test is divided into two types of testing. The first type is the on-demand test. This occurs only when the technician is in the self-test mode. The on-demand test is divided into two sections, the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) and the Engine Running (ER) tests. The second type is a continuous monitor test. This occurs continuously to survey the system during normal operating modes.
