Intake Air Duct: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Air Cleaner Assembly:

1. Remove the air cleaner assembly and place on a work bench.
2. Loosen air cleaner inlet tube clamp at duct; remove resonator and inlet tube.
3. Disconnect vacuum hose from vacuum motor and valve assembly.
4. Remove vacuum motor retaining screws and remove vacuum motor actuating rod from valve door by rotating lightly counterclockwise.
5. Remove vacuum motor.


INSTALLATION

1. Connect vacuum motor to valve door.
2. Position motor on the duct and valve assembly.
3. Check vacuum motor and valve for sticking or binding.
4. Connect vacuum motor to vacuum hose.
5. Install air cleaner inlet tube and resonator assembly. Tighten clamp to 12-20 lb-in (1.9-2.3 Nm).
6. Install the air cleaner assembly.
