Transmission Control Systems: Adjustments
LINE PRESSURE1. Remove the splash shield next to the left front tire.
Line Pressure.:
2. Remove the square head plug (marked "L") and install Transmission Test Adapter D87C-77000-A and Pressure Gauge T57L-77820-A or equivalent.
3. Turn the kickdown cable locknuts to the furthest point from the throttle cam (loosen the cable all the way).
4. Shift the transaxle into PARK and warm up the engine.
NOTE: The idle speed should be 700-800 rpm.
5. Turn the locknuts toward the throttle cam until the line pressure begins to exceed 450 kPa (63-66 psi).
6. Turn the locknuts away from the throttle cam until the specified line pressure is reached.
7. Tighten the locknuts.
8. Turn off the engine.
9. Install the square head plug and tighten to 5-10 N-m (43-87 lb-in).
10. When installing a new kickdown cable, fully open the throttle valve, then crimp the pin with the protector installed as shown. Remove the protector.
