REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (Continued)





5. Using a 10 mm wrench, remove the locknut from the parking brake adjusting nut.





6. Remove the two attaching bolts from the parking brake lever.

7. Remove the parking brake lever.





8. From under the car, disconnect the parking brake return spring from the parking brake equalizer.

9. Remove the parking brake equalizer and cable from the tunnel access plate.





Installation
1. From under the car, install the parking brake equalizer, cable, and cable boot into the access plate.

2. From inside the car, install equalizer cable into the parking brake lever.

3. Loosely install the cable adjusting nut.

4. Position the parking brake lever on the tunnel and install the two attaching bolts.

5. Position the parking brake warning light switch on the parking brake lever and install the attaching screws.

6. From under the car, install the two parking brake cables in the parking brake equalizer.

7. Install the parking brake return spring at the equalizer.

8. From inside the car, adjust the parking brake. Refer to the procedure in this Section.

9. Install the console. Refer to Section 01-12.
