Replacement Procedures

REMOVAL

Bypass Air Control Valve:





1. Remove the four attaching screws from the BAC valve and disconnect the BAC valve electrical connector.
2. Remove the BAC valve from the throttle body.

INSTALLATION

Bypass Air Control Valve:





1. Remove any dirt or old sealant from the contact surfaces of throttle body and the BAC valve assembly.
2. Apply sealant on both sides of the gasket and position the BAC valve on the throttle body.
3. Tighten the attaching screws.

INSPECTION

Bypass Air Control Valve Ports:





1. Blow air through the valve from port (A) and check that air comes out of port (B) when the BAC valve is cold.
^ If not correct, replace the BAC valve.

Bypass Air Control Valve Connector:





2. Connect a volt ohmmeter to the BAC valve electrical connector.
^ Resistance (cold engine temperature): 6.3-9.9 ohms.
^ If not correct, replace the BAC valve.
