Kicker Speed

1. Place the transmission in PARK or NEUTRAL. Block the wheels and set the parking brake. If the vehicle is equipped with automatic brake release, disconnect the vacuum hose and plug it.
2. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.
3. Position the A/C-Heat selector to the OFF position.
4. Disconnect and plug the vacuum hose from the VOTM kicker.
5. Connect a tachometer to the engine according to the tachometer manufacturers' instructions.
6. Connect a hand-held vacuum pump to the VOTM kicker, and apply a vacuum no less than 10 in.-Hg (33.7 kPa).
7. Place the transmission selector in the specified position, and check the VOTM kicker speed.
8. If the VOTM kicker speed is not within specifications, rotate the adjustment screw until the specification is obtained.

9. Remove the hand-operated vacuum pump, and reconnect the vacuum line to the VOTM kicker.
