Throttle Body: Description and Operation
Throttle Body:
The throttle body consists of six separate components which perform the fuel and air metering to the engine. The throttle body is mounted on the intake manifold and provides a housing for the, Air Control Butterfly Valve, Injector Nozzle, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Engine Idle Speed Control, Throttle Position Sensor, and the Fuel Pressure Diagnostic Valve.
The air flow is controlled by one butterfly valve which is mounted on the throttle body and is similar in design and operation to that of a carburetor.
