Ford Motor Company is providing a no-charge Service Program, Number (B96), to owners of certain 1990 Probe GT cars equipped with automatic transmissions.

REASON FOR Some of these cars may experience automatic transmission failure. This may result from
THIS PROGRAM a wiring harness which is routed directly over a transmission oil cooler line hose clamp.
If the wiring harness contacts the hose clamp and rubs through the protective cover,
battery voltage will corrode the oil cooler tank located in the radiator. In time, the oil cooler
may leak causing damage to the automatic transmission.


NO COST SERVICE At no cost to you, your dealer will inspect and, if necessary, increase the clearance
between the wiring harness and hose clamp. The radiator and automatic transmission
will also be inspected and replaced if damaged.


HOW LONG WILL The time needed to inspect your car is less than one hour. However, due to service
IT TAKE? scheduling times, your dealer may need your car for one full working day.



RENTAL CARS If either the radiator or automatic transmission require replacement, your dealer will provide
you with a free (except for fuel) rental car until your car is ready.


CALL YOUR DEALER Ask for a service date.

When you bring your car in, give the dealer this letter.

If you misplace this letter, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge.


REFUNDS If you paid to have this service done before the date of this letter, Ford is offering a full refund.
For the refund, please show your paid work-order to your Ford dealer.
