ISSUE:
Customers may experience a "knocking" noise when turning the vehicle sharply or when driving over speed bumps. This may be caused by the rubber portion of the front suspension upper spring seat momentarily lifting from the metal portion of the upper spring seat. Refer to Figure 1.

ACTION:
Replace both the left and right front suspension upper spring seats with improved parts. Refer to the appropriate model year Probe Service Manual, Section 04-01, for service details.

NOTE:
THE THRUST BEARINGS AND UPPER MOUNTING BRACKETS MUST ALSO BE REPLACED WHEN INSTALLING THE IMPROVED UPPER SPRING SEATS.
