Attachment III - Technical Instructions

EGR VALVE/EVP SENSOR REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

AFFECTED VEHICLES:

All 1990, 1991, and 1992 model California Probe GT's equipped with 2.2L turbocharged engines.

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) VALVE AND EVP SENSOR ASSEMBLY

Removal

1. If equipped with a digital radio, write down preset stations on a piece of paper for reentry after repair is performed.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Disconnect the vacuum tube from the EGR valve.

4. Disconnect the EGR valve position sensor connector.

5. Remove the male connector from the bracket by depressing the tabs of the connector.





6. Remove the EGR valve and gasket by removing the three (3) bolts.

Installation

1. Discard old gasket and clean intake manifold surface.

2. Position new gasket and EGR Valve/EVP Sensor and install in reverse order of removal.

3. Reset any preset radio stations noted during removal; reset clock.





4. Prepare an Authorized Modifications Decal as shown.

AUTHORIZED MODIFICATIONS DECAL

^ Insert your P&A code, and date of repair. Attach the Authorized Modifications Decal to a clean surface on the fan shroud.
^ Place clear overlay on the decal.

EMISSIONS RECALL - PROOF OF CORRECTION CERTIFICATE

Provide owners of California cars with "Emissions Recall - Proof of Correction" certificates.
