Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Intake Manifold:

REMOVAL

1. Relieve the fuel line pressure, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
2. Remove the intake plenum, refer to INTAKE PLENUM.
3. Remove the fuel inlet line from the fuel rail.
4. Disconnect the fuel return line from the fuel rail.
5. Remove the electrical connectors at the injectors.
6. Remove the pressure regulator.
7. Remove the attaching bolts and the fuel rail.
8. Remove the fuel injectors.
9. Remove the O-rings from the injectors.

INSTALLATION

1. Install new O-rings onto the injectors and lubricate.
2. Position the fuel injectors into the cylinder head.
3. Position the fuel rail onto the fuel injectors and install the attaching bolts.
4. Install the pressure regulator.
5. Install the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors.
6. Install the fuel return line onto the fuel rail and secure with clamp.
7. Install the fuel inlet line onto the fuel rail with washers and hollow bolt.
8. Install the intake plenum.
9. Connect the fuel pump connector.
