PROCEDURES

NOTE: Check for associated Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's) prior to starting the job.

1. Perform Initial Test Drive.

2. Check ignition timing and engine vacuum (Initial Checks). Service and Repair

3. Perform Initial Preparations. Fundamentals and Basics

4. Pre-position crankshaft to #1 TDC compression. Fundamentals and Basics

5. Remove timing belt. Service and Repair
- Removal Tips and Hints. Fundamentals and Basics

6. Inspect camshaft and crankshaft seals, and tensioner pulley (Pre-Installation Inspection).

7. Install timing belt. Service and Repair
- Installation Tips and Hints. Fundamentals and Basics

8. Reconnect battery.

9. Start engine, check the following:
- Ignition timing. Specifications
- Engine vacuum. Fundamentals and Basics
- Abnormal noises/vibrations from timing belt cover.

10. Perform "After Repairs Test Drive".
