Article No. 88-7-15
STUMBLE - AFTER HOT SOAK DURING SLIGHT "TIP-IN" - 5.0L H.0. WITH AOD TRANSMISSION
FORD: 1988 MUSTANG

CALIBRATION: 8-22P-R10 (California Only)

WARNING: This modification is authorized only for the listed engines. Performing this modification on other engine calibrations is unauthorized and could create liability under applicable federal or local laws.

ISSUE: A light to moderate stumble during throttle "tip-in" may be caused by an over-rich fuel condition. The stumble occurs during the first 30 seconds after a hot soak restart. This over-rich fuel condition may be caused by the strategy of the EEC IV processor.
ACTION: To correct this, install a new level EEC IV processor. Refer to the 1988 Engine/Emission Diagnosis Shop Manual, Volume "H" for service details.

Obtain an Authorized Modification Decal and list the date, dealer number, and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information Decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modification Decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
