ISSUE: A remanufactured transaxle with converter and planet revisions is now available for exchange under certain conditions. In some cases, worn converter splines and planets have been experienced, but not simultaneously. This results in repeat repair efforts since each of these components requires removal of the transaxle.

ACTION: If the transaxle must be removed from the vehicle for service, refer to the ALL DEALER LETTER dated 8/15/89 outlining the 1987 2.5L Taurus/Sable ATX/CLC Transaxle Exchange Program.
