FORD 1987 MUSTANG


ISSUE: The air conditioning compressor/clutch lead wire harness (E6ZZ-19D887-A) which has a diode for EEC IV system protection and the wide open throttle (W.O.T.) cutout relay (E6DZ-11433-A) are not included in the non-A/C vehicle wiring harness or in the dealer A/C engine kits (E7ZZ-19B969-B) received prior to February 2, 1987.

ACTION: When installing the A/C engine kit, (received prior to February 2, 1987) the A/C clutch lead wire harness (E6ZZ-19D887-A) and W.O.T. A/C cutout relay (E6DZ-11433-A) should be ordered and installed. Refer to the following service procedure for installation information.

NOTE: Dealer A/C engine kits (E7ZZ-19B969-B) received after February 2, 1987 will contain the A/C clutch lead wire harness and the W.O.T. cutout relay. Kits will be labeled - "One E7ZZ-19B969-B engine kit with relay".

1. Plug the A/C clutch lead wire harness (E6ZZ- 19D887-A) into the black two (2) pin original equipment wire connector C355 located on the left fender apron, Figure 7.

2. Connect the other end of A/C clutch lead wire harness to compressor/clutch lead.

3. Secure wire harness to adjacent hardware with tie straps.

4. Plug W.O.T. cut out relay (E6DZ-11433-A) into a five (5) pin, four (4) wire original equipment wire connector located on the front of the right shock tower, Figure 8.

5. Attach the W.O.T. relay to fender apron with a screw (N801846-S36MG), Figure 8.
