ISSUE: A vibration and "boom" noise heard in the passenger compartment at about 1200-1400 engine RPM during A/C operation may be caused by the accessory drive belt stretching more than normally. Excessive stretching of the belt allows the automatic belt tensioner to travel further than normal and ground out. The current design of the A/C compressor mounting brackets and power steering mounting components amplify the noise and vibration.
ACTION: To correct this, install a new design supplemental A/C Engine Kit that improves the mounting componentry and automatic accessory drive belt tension system. Refer to the installation instructions packaged with the kit.
