A heat deflector shield on the exhaust manifold is used to prevent damage to the current design air intake resonator, engineering part number E7ZE-9F763-BA. This heat deflector shield will not be used for vehicles built after 11/20/86 which use a new high temperature-resistant air intake resonator, engineering part number E7ZE-9F763-BB. The engineering part number for correct part identification is located on the underside of the air intake resonator.

NOTE: Air intake resonator, E7ZE-9F763-BA still requires the use of the heat deflector shield.
