With the ignition key on.

SET CONDITION
An open or shorted condition is detected in the torque converter clutch solenoid control circuit.

THEORY OF OPERATION
The solenoid controls the operation of the converter clutch. A small current continuously senses the state of this circuit when the ignition key is turned on.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Solenoid coil open or shorted
- Fused ignition switch output circuit open
- Solenoid control circuit open or shorted to ground
