WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition key on and engine running.

SET CONDITION
With the vehicle above 40 mph for more than 30 seconds, the power steering pressure switch remains closed.

THEORY OF OPERATION
The PCM monitors the power steering pressure switch for a high pressure condition. The power steering pressure switch signals the PCM whenever there is a power steering load (pressure exceeding 500 psi). During this condition, the PCM will adjust the RPM to prevent a possible stall. The power steering switch is a normally open switch.
