Acceleration/Deceleration Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect the G-sensor connector and connect the special tool (test harness set: MB991348) between the terminals of the disconnected connector.

Measuring G-Sensor Output Voltage With Special Tool:

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and take a reading of the following output voltage. Between terminals (2) and (3) which should be between 2.4 - 2.6 volts.

Measuring G-Sensor Output Voltage W/FRONT Mark On Sensor Facing Down:

3. With the special tool still connected, secure the G-sensor so that the FRONT mark on the sensor mounting surface is facing straight down, and then take a reading of the following output voltage. Between terminals (2) and (3) which should be between 3.3 - 3.7 volts.
4. If the voltage is outside the standard value, after checking to be sure that there is no abnormality in the power supply and earth wires, replace the G-sensor.
