Harness Inspection

Step 1

Step 2

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
Hint 1: If the engine is hard to start when hot, check fuel pressure and check the injector for leaks.

Hint 2: If the injector does not operate when the engine that is hard to start is cranked, the following as well as the injector itself may be responsible.
a. Faulty power supply circuit to the engine control module, faulty ground circuit
b. Faulty Multiport Fuel Injection (MFI) relay
c. Faulty crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor

Hint 3: If there is any cylinder whose idle state remains unchanged when an injector(s) is shut off during testing, make following check the following for that cylinder.
a. Injector and harness check
b. Spark plug and spark plug cable check
c. Compression pressure check

Hint 4: If the injector harness and individual part checks have tested normal but the injector drive time is out of specification, the following conditions are suspected.
a. Poor combustion in the cylinder (faulty spark plug, ignition coil, compression pressure, etc.)
b. Loose Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve seating
c. High engine resistance
