Voltage Signal: Description and Operation
OPERATION
^ The generator FR terminal converts the generator field coil ON/OFF conditions into voltage signals (low/high) and outputs them to the engine control module. The engine control module detects the generator output current using these signals, and controls the idle air control motor depending on the generator output current.
^ The generator output voltage is applied to the generator G terminal. If the generator G terminal is grounded by the engine control module, the generator regulating voltage lowers and the generator output current stops flowing out. Accordingly, the generator output current can be regulated by duty-controlling the continuity between G terminal and ground.
