Voltage Signal: Description and Operation
OPERATIONGenerator FR terminal converts the electric continuity state of the generator field coil (ON/OFF state) to the voltage (Low/High) and inputs it to the engine control module (ECM). By detecting the generator output current from this signal, the ECM detects the generator output current and controls the idle air control motor with the generator output current.
Generator output voltage is applied to the generator G terminal. When the ECM establishes the continuity between the generator G terminal and ground, the generator adjusts the voltage drop so the generator output current is stopped. Therefore, the generator output current can be restricted by performing duty control of the continuity between G terminal and ground.
