Idle Air Control (IAC) Motor

Idle Speed Control Motor Test:






COIL RESISTANCE TEST
1. Disconnect the Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor connector.
2. Using a suitable ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals the of ISC motor coil.
3. Resistance should be 5-35 ohms at 68°F.
4. If resistance is not as specified, replace servo assembly. SEE IDLE SPEED CONTROL (ISC) MOTOR REPLACEMENT.

Idle Speed Control Motor Actuation:






MOTOR OPERATION TEST
1. Connect a +6V power source between terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the ISC motor connector while observing operation of the motor.
2. Reversing the power source leads should cause the ISC motor to move in the opposite direction.
3. If motor does not actuate replace the motor. SEE IDLE SPEED CONTROL (ISC) MOTOR REPLACEMENT.
