Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement

1. Remove floor console components in numbered sequence.

2. Remove instrument panel components in numbered sequence, noting the following:

a. Remove cool air bypass lever cable from heater unit.
b. Remove air outlet center panel assembly mounting screws, then the assembly.
c. Remove heater control cables from heater unit and blower assembly.
d. Remove heater control assembly in order shown.

Fig. 18 Heater Control Assembly Removal:

e. Remove adapter lock from instrument panel. Pull speedometer cable slightly into passenger compartment, then remove adapter.

3. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Turn cool air bypass lever of air outlet center panel assembly fully upward.
b. Turn cool air bypass damper lever at heater unit fully downward, then install cool air bypass lever cable.
