With Cruise Control
1. Remove the air cleaner.2. Remove the link protector.
3. Make sure that the accelerator cable, throttle cable, and cruise control cable are free of any sharp bends or folds.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position WITHOUT starting the engine for approximately 15 seconds.
5. Loosen adjusting nuts A, B, C, and D to provide sufficient free play for each cable.
Throttle And Accelerator Cable Assembly (w/ Cruise Control):
6. Move the throttle plate so that when link A is in contact with the stopper the accelerator cable has the necessary free play. Secure adjusting nut A when the proper adjustment is made.
Adjusting The Accelerator Cable (w/ Cruise Control):
Standard Adjustment:
M/T 0.0 - 0.04 in. (0 - 1 mm)
A/T 0.08 - 0.12 in. (2 - 3 mm)
7. With the end of link B in contact with the stopper of link A, adjust the play of the throttle cable (inner cable) to the standard adjustment using adjusting bolt B.
Adjusting The Throttle Cable (w/ Cruise Control):
Standard Adjustment: 0.04 - 0.08 in. (1 - 2 mm)
8. Use the lock nut and adjusting bolt D to secure the throttle cable.
9. With the end of link C in contact with the stopper of link B, adjust the play of the cruise control cable (inner cable) to the standard adjustment using adjusting nut C.
Adjusting The Cruise Control Cable:
Standard Adjustment: 0.04 - 0.08 in. (1 - 2 mm)
10. Secure the cruise control cable with the lock nut.
11. After adjusting, check that the throttle valve fully opens and closes using the accelerator pedal.
