Test 4 - Spark From Coil Testing

Spark Plug Wire Routing:

COIL SPARK TEST


1. With the ignition switch in the OFF position, remove the distributor cap and rotor.
2. Connect a jumper lead to the high-voltage terminal of the ignition coil and to a spark tester with a good ground.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the START position and check that there is a good spark at the spark tester. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. If there was a good spark at the spark tester check the distributor cap and rotor for cracks, carbon arcing, burn through or moisture and repair or replace as necessary. If there was no spark at the spark tester, check coil resistance.
