TRANSMISSION QUALITY IMPROVEMENTS


Effective in April, 1989, a running change was made in the KM171, KM172 and KM172 Type II automatic transmission used in the Summit. These transmissions now incorporate a new style oil pump housing. The new housings have some additional strengthening ribs and also have some changes in the oil grooves.


The new style and the old style pumps are completely interchangeable and will cause no problems if they are substituted for each other.
