Front Door Handle: Service and Repair

REMOVAL STEPS
1. Door trim and waterproof film
2. Inside lock knob
3. Door window glass
- Inside handle play adjustment
- Outside handle play check
4. Door inside handle
5. Door outside handle
6. Door latch assembly
7. Door latch switch

NOTES:
1. Reverse the removal procedures to reinstall.
2. Arrows show the installation position of trim clip.

SERVICE POINTS OF REMOVAL
1. Removal Of Door Trim And Waterproof Film
Refer to Door Panel/Service and Repair.

3. Removal Of Door Window Glass
Refer to Window Glass/Service and Repair.

INSPECTION OF DOOR LATCH SWITCH
Operate the switch, and check the continuity between the terminals. refer to the chart below.

SERVICE POINTS OF INSTALLATION

6. Application Of Grease To Door Latch Assembly
1. Apply multipurpose grease to all moving parts.

Specified Grease: MOPAR Multipurpose Grease Part No. 2932524 or equivalent

2. When the door inside handle of a sedan is mounted, align the marking with the center of the grommet screw.

OUTSIDE HANDLE PLAY CHECK
If the door outside handle play does not fall within the standard limits, check the door outside handle or door latch assembly, and replace if necessary.

Standard value (A): 3 - 12 mm (0.11 - 0.47 in.)

INSIDE HANDLE PLAY ADJUSTMENT
Move the door inside handle installation position back and forth to adjust so that the inside handle play allowance agrees with the standard value.

Standard value (B): 4 - 10 mm (0.16 - 0.40 in.)
