Timing Chain: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove vibration damper, the the fan shroud assembly.
3. Remove water pump pulley, then the accessory drive brackets that are attached to timing case cover.
4. Remove A/C compressor (if equipped) and alternator bracket assembly from cylinder head. Position aside.
5. Remove timing case cover attaching bolts, then the case cover front seal and gasket from engine.
6. Cut off oil pan side gasket end tabs and oil pan front seal tabs flush with front face of cylinder block. Remove gasket tabs.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
