Oil Pan: Service and Repair
1984---88 EAGLE1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Lock steering wheel, then raise and support vehicle at side sills.
3. Drain engine oil, then mark front driveshaft to ensure correct alignment during assembly.
4. Disconnect driveshaft, then support axle assembly with a suitable jack.
5. Disconnect half shafts from axle. Compress half shafts in toward wheels, secure in compressed position with wire attached to frame sills.
6. Remove bolt from right bracket at axle tube bolt bars, then the bolts from left upper axle bracket at the upper end.
7. Remove pinion end bracket to pinion attaching bolts.
8. Remove vent hose and axle assembly.
9. Remove starter motor, then the torque converter housing access cover.
10. Remove oil pan attaching screws, then the oil pan.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
