For all other complaints, perform "System Operational Test, Chart 1," with the engine at normal operating temperature. Chart 1-C4 System Operational Test

Whenever the engine is started, even if it is warm, it must be operated for at least 3 minutes at part throttle or until tachometer pointer (dwell) starts to vary before performing any test.

The self-diagnostic system does not detect all possible faults. The absence of a trouble code does not indicate that a malfunction does not exist. To determine if there is a problem in the system, the "System Operational Test", Chart 1, must be performed. The "System Operational Test", Chart 1 should also be performed after all repairs on the C-4 system have been done.

Refer to Figure 3, for terminal reference during diagnosis. Install test bulb before starting.

Use extreme caution when engine is running. Do not stand in direct line with fan and do not wear loose clothing. Keep hands away from pulleys, belts or fan.
