Concealment Plug Removal

1. Remove carburetor from engine and place on a suitable holding fixture with manifold side facing upward.
2. Using a hack saw blade, make two parallel cuts of locator point in throttle body below each mixture needle plug. The cuts should extend down to the steel plug, but not more that 1/8 inch beyond the indicator point. The distance between the saw cuts depends on size of punch to be used.
3. Position a suitable punch at a 45° near the saw cuts, then drive punch into throttle body until casting breaks away and idle mixture screw concealment plugs are exposed.
4. Remove steel concealment plug using a suitable drift.
