DESCRIPTION

The 8.4L V10 engine uses two Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensors (1). The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensors are integrated into the MAF sensors. The MAF sensors are located in the air cleaner cover (2) in front of the clean air hoses and the throttle bodies. The MAF sensors use a semiconductor technology throughout and is used to calculate the air mass and air temperature flowing past the sensors. The MAF sensor sends a corresponding signal to the PCM. The PCM evaluates the signal to adjust the air/fuel mixture.
