Headlamp Bulb and HID Components - Removal

BULB AND HID COMPONENTS

LAMP/IGNITER ASSEMBLY






CAUTION: The Ballast Module and Lamp/Igniter are specifically designed for each individual application, When replacing either the Ballast Module or Lamp/Igniter, make sure they are compatible with each other. Check with the parts department for compatibility.

The lamp/igniter are an assembly and will be serviced and replaced as such.

1. Open deck lid.
2. Remove four bolts to battery compartment cover and remove cover.
3. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
4. Remove front fender extension splash shield (3) on the respective side by removing the fasteners (2) Splash Shield - Removal. Remove wheel and tire assembly if extra room is needed Tires and Wheels - Removal.
5. Remove the three nuts to the headlamp access panel and remove panel.
6. Release the spring retainer to the lamp/igniter assembly.
7. Pull assembly straight out of headlamp unit.
8. Disconnect the lamp/igniter assembly connector from the lamp/igniter assembly.

BALLAST MODULE

1. Open deck lid.
2. Remove four bolts to battery compartment cover and remove cover.
3. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
4. Remove front fender extension splash shield (3) on the respective side by removing the fasteners (2) Splash Shield - Removal. Remove wheel and tire assembly if extra room is needed Tires and Wheels - Removal.
5. Remove the three nuts to the headlamp access panel and remove panel.
6. Remove two retaining screws and bracket to ballast module.
7. Disconnect the igniter/lamp assembly connector from ballast module and the ballast module feed connector.
8. Remove the ballast module from headlamp access cover.

HIGH BEAM

1. Open deck lid.
2. Remove four bolts to battery compartment cover and remove cover.
3. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
4. Remove front fender extension splash shield (3) on the respective side by removing the fasteners (2) Splash Shield - Removal. Remove wheel and tire assembly if extra room is needed Tires and Wheels - Removal.
5. Remove the three nuts to the headlamp access panel and remove panel.
6. Remove the headlamp by turning 1/4 turn counterclockwise and pulling straight out.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp and remove from vehicle.
