Timing Chain & Sprockets - Removal
REMOVAL
CAMSHAFT SPROCKET/PHASER REMOVAL
1. Remove timing chain cover Engine Timing Cover(s) - Removal.
2. Remove camshaft drive plate bolts (1,3).
3. Remove camshaft drive plate (2).
4. Rotate crankshaft until timing marks (1,2,3) are aligned.
5. Remove the camshaft sprocket/phaser attaching bolt (1).
6. Remove the timing chain with the sprocket/phaser assembly (2).
CRANKSHAFT SPROCKET REMOVAL
1. Install crankshaft insert 8194 (1) into end of crankshaft. Lubricate the end of crankshaft insert 8194 (1) with wheel bearing grease or equivalent.
NOTE: Lubricate the threads of bearing puller 5048 (3) using Mopar(R) Nickel Anti-seize Compound or equivalent, before beginning crankshaft sprocket removal.
2. Using crankshaft sprocket puller 9056A (1) and bearing puller 5048 (2), remove crankshaft sprocket.
