Driver Seat Track Position Sensor Fault
DRIVER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR FAULT
Theory of Operation
When powered, the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) sends a test current to the seat track position sensors to verify the integrity of the sensor and wiring. If a problem is detected the OCM set an active Driver or Passenger Seat Track Position Sensor trouble code and broadcast a BUS message to the ORC. Based on this BUS message the ORC will set the DRIVER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR FAULT DTC active until the BUS message reports the condition corrected.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on and Bus communication between the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) and the Occupant Classification Module (OCM).
- Set Condition:
When the ORC receives a Bus status message from the OCM This ORC DTC will set this DTC if the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) has an active Driver Seat Track Sensor DTC and sends a Bus status message to the ORC.
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Restraints System Pre-Diagnostic Procedure.
