DEPLOYMENT DATA RECORD FULL

Theory of Operation

The Airbag Deployment Counter increments each time the vehicle is in an impact of sufficient force to cause the deployment of any front airbag, side airbag or Seat Belt Tensioners. After the third impact the Airbag Deployment Counter will be equal to 3 and the DTC will be set active and latch active permanently. Replacement of the Occupant Restraint Controller is the only repair for this condition.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on the ORC on board diagnostics (OBD) monitors the Airbag Deployment Counter.

- Set Condition:
The ORC will set this DTC when the Airbag Deployment Counter reaches 3. This DTC will be latched active permanently and cannot be erased.
