VTSS Indicator Output Short






VTSS INDICATOR OUTPUT SHORT







- When Monitored:
When the output is on.

- Set Condition:
When the output is on and the BCM detects no voltage for at least 125 milliseconds on the VTSS Lamp Output circuit, this code will set.





1. PRE-TEST
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off, wait 15 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Did this DTC reset?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition is not present at this time. Monitor the scan tool while wiggling the related wire harness and connectors to attempt to reset DTC. Search for any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply.
- Perform the VTSS VERIFICATION TEST. VTSS Verification Test

2. VTSS INDICATOR
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the VTSS Indicator harness connector.
3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display "VTSS Indicator Output Open"?

Yes

- Replace the VTSS Indicator.
- Perform the VTSS VERIFICATION TEST. VTSS Verification Test

No

- Go To 3

3. VTSS INDICATOR OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the VTSS Indicator harness connector.
3. Disconnect the BCM C2 harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance between ground and the VTSS Indicator Driver circuit.

Is the resistance below 100 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the VTSS Indicator Driver circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the VTSS VERIFICATION TEST. VTSS Verification Test

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
