Right High Beam Output Short






RIGHT HIGH BEAM OUTPUT SHORT



- When Monitored:
Output is ON to OFF transition.

- Set Condition:
When Output is ON to OFF transition and voltage is detected low at output for less then 50 micros seconds.





1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, clear all BCM DTC's.
3. Actuate the High Beams.
4. With the scan tool, read the DTC information.

Does the scan tool read: Right High Beam Output Short?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

2. RIGHT HIGH BEAM OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORTED
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Right High Beam Headlamp connector.
3. Disconnect the BCM C2 harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance between the Right High Beam Output circuit and ground.

Is the resistance below 100.0 ohms?

Yes

- Repair the Right High Beam Output circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 3

3. HIGH BEAM HEADLAMP
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Right High Beam Headlamp connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Turn the High Beams on.
5. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the Right High Beam Output circuit.

Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Replace the High Beam Headlamp.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
