Lost Communication With BCM

LOST COMMUNICATION WITH BCM







- When Monitored:
Continuously.

- Set Condition:
The Gateway module does not receive any messages from the BCM.





1. ATTEMPT TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE BCM
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, select ECU View.
3. Verify that the BCM is active on the bus.

Is the BCM active on the bus?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Perform the No Response diagnostic procedure. Communications - Verbose Codes

2. CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL COMMUNICATION RELATED DTC'S
1. With the scan tool, select Network View and select Advanced.

Is there more than one module with active DTCs "Logged Against" the BCM?

Yes

- Replace/update the BCM.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace/update the module that set this DTC.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
