56 IOD Wakeup Cluster Open/Short To Ground
56-IOD WAKEUP CLUSTER OPEN/SHORT TO GROUND
- When Monitored:
With the ignition in all positions.
- Set Condition:
When the BCM output is off and the BCM detects that the Instrument Cluster IOD Wake Up circuit is open or shorted to ground for at least 125 milliseconds. Circuit is checked before Sleep Mode.
1. (G150) INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAKE UP SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN
NOTE: If set, diagnose and repair IOD - B(+) OUTPUT SHORT DTC before proceeding with this test.
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the BCM C2 harness connector.
3. Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C1 harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance of the (G150) Wake Up circuit between the BCM C4 connector and the Cluster C1 connector.
Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the Instrument Cluster Wake Up Sense circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 2
2. (G150) INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAKE UP SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (G150) Wake Up Sense circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (G150) Instrument Cluster Wake Up Sense circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 3
3. BODY CONTROL MODULE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Reconnect BCM C2 harness connector.
3. Install a DVOM between the (G150) Instrument Cluster Wake Up Sense circuit of the Instrument Cluster C1 harness connector and ground.
4. Set the DVOM to indicate resistance.
5. Turn the ignition on.
6. With the scan tool, select Body Control Module, then Actuators.
7. Observe the DVOM while using the scan tool to actuate the Cluster Wake Up "On".
Did the DVOM indicate a brief (approximately 2 seconds) continuity to ground?
Yes
- Replace the Instrument Cluster.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace and program the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
