1E Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch Stuck






1E-DRIVER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK







- When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control Module.

- Set Condition:
When the BCM senses a driver exterior door handle switch input on the Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch Sense circuit for over 10 seconds, this code will set.





1. DTC PRESENT
1. When this code is present, the VTSS indicator will stay on solid during the arming process.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
3. Cycle the ignition switch from ON to OFF to ON.
4. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
5. Lower the driver door window.
6. Remove the key and operate the Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch several times while monitoring the scan tool.
7. Wait 10 seconds.

Does the scan tool display 1E-DRIVER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Check the switch for a binding condition and replace if necessary. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. DRIVER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SHORTED




1. Disconnect the Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch connector.
2. With the scan tool in Sensors, read the DRV DOOR ENTRY voltage.

Is the voltage above 4.75 volts?

Yes

- Replace the Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. (P125) DRIVER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




1. Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 and C4 connectors.
2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (P125) Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch Sense circuit in the BCM C2 connector.

Is the resistance below 10,000 (10K) ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P125) Driver External Door Handle Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 4

4. (P125) DRIVER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO (P901) DRIVER DOOR SWITCH RETURN




1. Measure the resistance between the (P125) Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch Mux circuit and the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuits in the BCM C2 and C4 connectors.

Is the resistance below 10,000 (10K) ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P125) Driver Exterior Door Handle Switch Mux circuit for a partial short to the (P901) Driver Door Switch Return circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
