5.7 - MANUAL TRANSMISSION






NOTE: For a vehicle with a 5.7L engine and a manual transmission, it is not possible to remove the power steering pulley without damaging it. If the pulley or power steering pump require service, a new pulley and pump must be installed.

1. Install the pulley (2) on the pump (1) using (OTC 7771) power steering pulley installation tool or equivalent (3) making sure it is flush with the end of the shaft. Ensure the tool and pulley remain aligned with the pump shaft.
2. Install the power steering pump assembly.
3. Run the engine until warm (5 mm.) and listen for chirps to ensure the pulley is flush with the end of the pump shaft.
