Rear Lower Control Arm - Installation
INSTALLATION
1. Position lower control arm (2) into frame brackets.
NOTE: When installing cam bolts and washers, be sure holes in cams are located at 12 O'clock.
2. Install both lower control arm cam bolts as shown. Install cam washers and nuts. Do not tighten at this time.
3. Guide lower ball joint into lower control arm (9) and stabilizer link into mounting hole. Install and tighten lower ball joint castle nut to 160 Nm (118 ft. lbs.).
4. Install cotter pin in end of lower ball joint stud.
5. Install stabilizer bar link (3) nut and tighten to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
6. Install bolt and nut mounting shock assembly clevis bracket (1) to isolator bushing (2) on lower control arm (3). Do not tighten at this time.
7. Install tire and wheel assembly Tires and Wheels - Installation. Progressively tighten wheel mounting nuts in proper sequence to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
8. Lower vehicle.
9. Position vehicle on alignment rack/drive-on hoist.
10. Set vehicle to design height. Service and Repair
11. Tighten rear lower control arm cam bolt nuts to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.).
12. Tighten shock assembly clevis bracket mounting bolt to 136 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
13. Perform wheel alignment. Service and Repair
14. Road test vehicle to ensure proper operation.
